Information collection and use

This personal information collection is authorized by section 33(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.  

When you start an application, the information will be collected by the Tribunal from searches or parties, including but not limited to:

  • your name, address and contact information
  • information regarding representation
  • records provided by parties to the application
  • public records provided by the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission, Registrar of Land Titles, CORES  or any department of the Government.

 When you start an application, records related to the application will be shared with all other participating parties to the proceeding. The information collected may also be used for quality assurance purposes (for example, participant satisfaction surveys). This information is kept secure and is used only for the purpose of your application. The Tribunal is not, by virtue of the acceptance of any document through the use of the Portal responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, privileges or privacy of any content of any such document. To protect personal privacy, parties should not include or should redact where inclusion is necessary, personal information such as social insurance numbers, driver's licence numbers and financial account numbers from all documents unless otherwise provided by law.
